Note to ftp site admins

have you looked at this FTP server apparently it has improved throughput over other servers
http://vsftpd.beasts.org/

I dont know how it compares to the Pure-FTPd server you are currently using but may be worth looking at.

several large organizations apparently are using this.

thanks

Unfortunately, your speed is limited to your personal connection and the load on the Archive's site at any given moment.

It might be worth trying downloading the show from the details page (via HTTP) to see if, by any fluke, that ends up being faster, but otherwise, I'm afraid you're probably stuck to your current speed.

Regards,
Simon.

Nighttime is better from the archive's point of view. from 1-5AM california time we have bandwidth to burn, so you should be going at your full connection speed at those times at least.

we will be increasing our bandwidth to the net over the next month or so, so that should help as well.
